Burn Nav 6.5.1

Burn Navigator is a clinical decision support application designed to assist burn care clinicians in optimizing fluid resuscitation for burn patients.

The device is indicated for use in adult patients with 20% or more of Total Body Surface Area (TBSA) burned, and pediatric patients aged 24 months or older weighing at least 10 kg with burns covering 15% or more of TBSA. It functions as a fluid resuscitation monitor and provides hourly fluid recommendations based on patient data.

Designed to accommodate patients of all ages, comorbidities, and weights ranging from 1 to 400 kg, Burn Navigator offers clinicians a tool for continuous monitoring during fluid resuscitation protocols.

Clinicians can input example patient data in Training Mode to receive hourly fluid guidance and visualize burn resuscitation graphs, supporting informed decision-making.

Since its introduction in 2013, Burn Navigator has been utilized by leading burn centers across the United States. Retrospective analyses of clinical data have demonstrated several benefits, including:

• A reduction in 24-hour fluid administration from 6.5 to 4.2 mL/kg/TBSA
• A decrease of approximately 2.5 ventilator days per patient
• A decline in the incidence of Acute Kidney Injury from 15% to 6% within the first five days (p=0.089)
